A new look, a new rhythm — and a deeper way to learn crypto safely.
Hi Reader,
👋 Welcome (and a quick update)
If you’ve been here a while, you’ll know that CryptoGran newsletter used to be a short roundup of my latest blogs — a quick skim of what I’d been writing or reading and I have been a little hit an miss as to when this got sent.
Starting today, that format’s evolving. Yay!
From now on, you’ll receive a true weekly letter — part learning, part story, part reflection — designed to help you think, act, and feel more confident around crypto.
Each issue will still be written by me (no bots or fluff), but now it’ll include:
- 🧠 Market Clarity — one crypto concept explained in plain English.
- 🧰 Practical Tip — something you can actually apply this week.
- 💭 Mindset Shift — a reflection to build calm confidence.
- 🌱 Community Spotlight — highlights from the Academy and Collective.
- 📚 Book Club (new!) — let's read smarter and invest wiser. Free subscription to new members.
This is a step up from “here’s what I wrote” — it’s now “here’s what we’re learning together.”
So, welcome to the upgraded CryptoGran Weekly. Grab a coffee, settle in, and let’s begin ☕.
🧠 Market Clarity: What a “Bull Run” Really Means
You’ll hear this phrase everywhere — “The bull run is coming!” — as though it’s a once-in-a-lifetime train that you either catch or miss.
But pause. What actually is a bull run? And why does it matter to thoughtful, mid-life learners like you?
A bull run is simply a period of sustained optimism — when adoption grows, projects mature, and prices rise. It’s not magic. It’s a reflection of confidence meeting preparation.
The wiser question isn’t when it happens, but how prepared are you for it?
Ask yourself:
- Do I understand what I own and why?
- Could I calmly explain my decisions to someone else?
- Do I have a written plan for profit-taking or long-term holding?
Bull runs don’t reward speed. They reward systems, composure, and self-awareness. So while the noise gets louder, take this quieter time to build the habits that make you calm when others are chaotic.
🧰 Practical Tip: The 3-Minute Pre-Buy Check
Before you invest a single pound, ask three questions — my students in the Academy live by this:
1️⃣ Understand It – Could you explain what the project does to a friend in two sentences?
2️⃣ Plan It – Do you know your entry point, exit target, and timeframe?
3️⃣ Protect It – Have you secured your account or wallet with 2FA and backup keys?
If you can’t answer “yes” to all three, pause. The fastest way to lose money is to skip the slow steps.
💭 Mindset Shift: You’re Not Too Late — You’re Just Early to Learn
Every event I speak at, someone says, “I’ve missed the boat.”
Here’s the reality: the boat hasn’t even left the harbour — we’re still building it.
Crypto today is where the internet was in the early 2000s: clunky, new, and full of potential. You’re not late — you’re early to understand what most people will learn later, when it’s crowded.
Learning something new in mid-life takes courage. But courage is easier when you remember that experience, discipline, and emotional stability are already your superpowers.
🌱 Community Spotlight: Learning Together
At CryptoGran, we learn slowly, safely, and in community...
🎓 1. The Academy
If you’re an Academy student, your Thursday live sessions are where we turn information into application:
- Wallet setup & safety
- How to use exchanges wisely
- Portfolio basics
- Staying calm in volatility
-
📅 Book your Thursday session here (Academy access only)
🤝 2. The Collective
For graduates ready for deeper learning, the Collective meets on Tuesdays at 7 pm — a small circle for refining strategies, discussing real markets, and staying accountable. I won’t mention it every week, but it’s here if you’re curious what comes next, please reach out and we'll happily tell you more.
🍵 From My Week — Courage in Small Steps
This week I spoke at a local business network about “Crypto in Plain English.” Half the room admitted they thought they were too old to start — but by the end, they were asking questions about how to get started.
Later, an Academy student messaged me after moving her first assets into self-custody. She wrote: “Terrifying for ten minutes. Empowering forever.”
That, to me, is the whole journey in one sentence.
And in quieter moments, I’ve been re-reading The Psychology of Money. Morgan Housel writes:
“Patience is a form of courage.”
Maybe that’s the lesson for all of us right now — learn patiently, act bravely.

📚 PS: My New Weekly Book Review
Next month (November - when I will defo but snuggling up with a book and a hot water bottle) I’m starting a new habit with my followers: reading one book a month that expands our understanding of crypto, money, or mindset. You don't have to be a student to join us... it's open to all.
The first book that we will be unpacking Inventing Bitcoin by Yan Pritzker — a clear, short guide to how digital scarcity really works. If “how Bitcoin actually functions” has ever felt mysterious, this is your friendly doorway in.
Details to follow!
